myOSM App Reviews
This app is about as simple as it gets. It displays OSM maps and caches them on the hard drive. You can add bookmarks, and thats about it. Thats all I was looking for, so Im happy, but it would be nice to see an indication of the scale (such as a ruler across the bottom of the window).
I am a fan of OSM maps. myOSM is simple but it doesnt seem to be able to search an address. Type an address in to search field at the upper right corner of the window, hit <Return>, nothing happens. myOSM wont go to the address. Not too useful as a map application if users cannot search an address.
A great idea for an app - simple, offline maps to keep track of bookmarks and comments. However, the user interface is borderline usable. Need much improvement.
GoogleMaps/Earth gibi muhteşem ve parasız uygulamalar varken bunu aldığıma yanıyorum... While such free applications like GoogleMaps/Earth exist, I regret paying for this.
Bad
Very poor quality of the application. It should be free if author doesnt want to spend time to make it better.
Waiting
Yes thats what you do!! You wait for maps to load, the program is very slow and wont even find you via GPS - Dont waist your money
Works well for offline maps
This is a pretty good app for offline display of OSM data.
dont waste ur money!!!!!
just use google maps or mapquest because this does not do more than google maps can!!!!!1
Its a very well thought out map viewer and I really like the 6 map choices. However as a mapping tool (as opposed to a map viewer) it has several shortcomings. One important feature that seems to be missing is the ability to use the mouse to see the lat/lon of a specific location. The program always tells you what the lat/lon is at the center of a displayed map. But thats not very practical given that the location I want to know the coordinates of is not always in the center of the map and there is no marker to precisely tell where the center of the map is located. A simple crosshair in the center would solve that problem. Still…turning on and off lat/lon display at the curser would be the most valuable coordinate finding tool. Some drawing tools and pins would also add value. Saving the map as a .pdf is an already included feature. Nice simple program that could be really valuable given the vacancy of decent mapping tools on Macs. Keep developing this…please...
I downloaded this in hopes of learning more about an island we are planning to visit (Bermuda). I have no idea what this app was designed for, but it was not for this! To begin with, The maps are static and you have to click, drag, click, drag to move the page so you can see more. You can zoom out the view from space, or you can look at a featureless shape. Wish I could get my $2.00 and my time back. Why cant I find an app for my mac like Maps on my iPad? I jsut want to see the layout of the island and cities and beaches, get some idea of the distances between them and outher historic destinations. Not the app for me.
I love that works on Retina Macbook! Here is list of suggestions for future versions: - fullscreen mode - nicer icon… this one is so ugly on 10.10 Yosemite - clickable POIs - vector rendering - better search
